Las Lajas is produced by Oscar and Francisca Chacón, third-generation coffee producers known for helping lead Costa Rica’s micromill movement. Their commitment to quality, experimentation, and hands-on processing has made Las Lajas one of the country’s most recognized names in specialty coffee.
Perla Negra is a natural-process coffee made from carefully selected ripe cherries with high sugar content. The coffee is dried slowly over 22–30 days, beginning in thin layers on raised beds before resting in the shade and finishing in a greenhouse patio. This extended drying process creates a deeply sweet, fruit-forward cup with the complexity and character that Las Lajas is known for.
